Engineering Intern – Renu MedTech

I interned with Renu Medtech from April to July 2026 – a startup working on developing an insulin-patch pump catered to the Indian market.

During my internship, I helped identify the right battery chemistry for the device based on energy density, cost, form-factor and safety. I also calculated battery capacity using a detailed breakdown of component power draw.

Further, my next project was identifying the communications architecture for the device. I compared Bluetooth Low Energy against Near Field communication across multiple axes including human factors, cost, range, safety and regulatory requirements.
