Driven by the urgency of climate change, I built a mobile app that records tree parameters with geolocation and uploads the data to the cloud, enabling citizens, NGOs, and governments to use it for conservation and sustainable urban planning. The app has PlantNet Integrated into it, to allow automatic tree identification from the photos that users upload. 

Data from The Tree Map, in collaboration with Jeevitnadi and Pune River Revival, was compiled by the Pune Knowledge Cluster and presented to the Pune Municipal Corporation, contributing to a stay on a concretisation project at the Ram-Mula river confluence. The Tree Map is currently collaborating with the mission city chakra team at the Centre for Sustainable Development, Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics to work with over 850 schools to map their biodiversity and help collect leaf biomass data. 

What began as manual mapping evolved into a scalable, user-friendly platform that democratizes data collection, allowing anyone to contribute to tree conservation. 

Building The Tree Map brought together my interests in technology and environmental action, and I currently lead the team, working with schools and NGOs to expand the database and grow its impact.
